Washington Parish Jail Roster Overview
The Washington Parish Sheriff's Office publishes the local inmate search through inmates.wpso.live, which redirects to a Platinum Webjail roster branded for Washington Parish. The app labels the list "Current Inmate Roster." It covers current parish jail custody, not every person ever arrested in Washington Parish and not people already transferred to state prison. The public API inspected on June 16, 2026 returned 253 current records, but that count is a snapshot, not a certified average daily population.
The roster is useful because it combines booking and charge information in one inmate profile. It also has limits. WPSO's live footer says the information is collected and maintained for convenience and that the detention center cannot certify accuracy or authenticity. That warning matters when a family member is about to post bond, drive to a visit, or rely on charge data. Confirm high-stakes details with WPSO at (985) 839-3434 or with the court or clerk when the question is about a filed criminal case.
The roster screenshot in the manifest comes from the public Platinum Webjail interface used by WPSO.
The roster image matches the public current-inmate workflow, while older booking records and court case records require different offices.
Use the Washington Parish Inmate Roster
A good Washington Parish inmate records search starts with the person's name and a clear idea of which custody system may hold them. If the arrest was made by WPSO or the person has been transferred to the parish jail, the WPSO roster is the first source. If the arrest just happened in Bogalusa, a phone check with the city jail may come before the parish roster. If the person has been sentenced to Louisiana DPS&C, use Louisiana VINE or the DOC phone locator instead.
- Open the WPSO inmate search from the sheriff's office site or the direct gateway.
- Let the link redirect to the Platinum Webjail public roster.
- Enter a name in the "Search inmates..." box, then use race, gender, date, or sort controls if they appear.
- Sort by booking date for recent entries or by name when checking a known person.
- Open the inmate card to view booking ID, mugshot, demographics, bond status, and charges.
- Call WPSO if the record is missing, stale, or unclear, especially before posting bond or visiting.
Washington Parish Roster Search Fields
The WPSO roster search fields are more specific than a simple name list. The app bundle and API show filters for text search, booking date range, gender, race, sort order, and pagination. WPSO did not publish a wildcard rule, refresh schedule, or minimum search length in the reviewed source material.
| Field Label | Type | Required | Notes |

Washington Parish Inmate Profile Fields
A Washington Parish inmate profile is a jail booking record, not the full court file. The card and detail modal show identifying information, booking data, mugshot status, and charge rows. The sample detail endpoint showed statute descriptions and felony or misdemeanor level codes, but no public housing unit, court date, or projected release date field was observed in the WPSO sample. That distinction helps keep the roster separate from the Washington Parish Clerk of Court case record.
| Field | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Booking ID | Public booking number, such as a B plus year and sequence format. |
| Booking Date | Date the jail booking appears on the roster card. |
| Mugshot | PNG image field when present, otherwise a placeholder image. |
| Demographics | Age, height, weight, eye color, hair color, gender, race, and address text. |
| Bond Status | Top-level bondable or not bondable status from the jail record. |
| Offenses | Charge rows with statute description, level, arrest date, arresting agency, bond denied, and bond amount. |
| Housing Unit | Not observed in the WPSO public sample. |
| Court Date | Not observed in the WPSO public sample; use clerk or court sources. |
County, State, Federal Custody
Washington Parish inmate records split by custody type. The parish roster covers pretrial and local jail custody at Washington Parish Jail. Louisiana VINE and the DOC phone locator cover sentenced state prisoners, including people at B.B. Rayburn Correctional Center. The BOP locator covers federal prisoners from 1982 to the present. ICE ODLS covers immigration detention, which is not the same as an ordinary parish jail booking.
| Custody | Where to Look | Use When |
|---|---|---|
| Pretrial or local sentence | WPSO jail roster | The person is in Washington Parish Jail custody. |
| Recent Bogalusa city hold | Bogalusa City Jail phone channel | The arrest is too new for WPSO transfer or release status. |
| Sentenced state prisoner | Louisiana VINE or DOC phone locator | The person has moved to DPS&C custody. |
| Federal prisoner | BOP inmate locator | The person is serving or has served federal custody. |
| Immigration detainee | ICE ODLS | The hold is immigration-related. |
Washington Parish Jail Facilities
The facility name determines the correct records channel. Washington Parish Jail is the roster facility. Bogalusa City Jail is a municipal holding facility listed by Louisiana DPS&C, with no separate official city roster located. B.B. Rayburn is a state prison with DOC rules, DOC visitation, and DOC/VINE lookup.

Booking Process in Washington Parish
Booking begins after an arrest by WPSO, Bogalusa Police, Franklinton police, state police, or another agency. Intake commonly includes identification, property inventory, medical or mental-health screening, warrant and hold checks, fingerprints, a booking photograph, and entry of booking charges. WPSO's public roster shows the resulting booking ID, booking date, mugshot when available, bondability, and charge detail.
Booking charges are not always the charges finally filed in court. The 22nd Judicial District Attorney reviews referrals and may file, reduce, amend, or decline charges. For misdemeanor cases, the DA page says an arrested person who posts bond and is released receives the arraignment date on bond paperwork. Failure to appear can lead to a bench warrant.
Washington Parish Jail Visitation Rules
The WPSO corrections page publishes visitor limits and conduct rules but not a day-by-day jail visitation calendar in the inspected text. Call the jail before travel because visits can change due to staffing, court movement, lockdown, medical limits, holidays, or emergencies. Visitors and inmates are subject to search, and the rules prohibit purses, phones, jewelry, and other items during visitation.
| Rule / Schedule Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| Visitor count | Two adults and three minors allowed per inmate. |
| Minor limits | Inmates with sex-crime charges may not visit with minors. |
| Visitor exclusions | Visitors with warrants or registered sex offender status are not permitted. |
| Items | No purses, phones, jewelry, or other items during visitation. |
| Dress | Provocative clothing is prohibited. |
| Visit length | Minimum 30 minutes, maximum 45 minutes. |
| Questions | Call (985) 839-3434. |
Contact Washington Parish Inmates
WPSO publishes NCIC for messaging, video visitation, and photo sharing. The corrections page says users can sign up free at NCIC.com and that released inmates can access photos, messages, and postal mail for free on the NCIC website. The reviewed WPSO pages did not publish a full phone pricing schedule, attorney visitation rule, or commissary deposit fee page.
| Service | Published Detail |
|---|---|
| Messaging / video / photo sharing | NCIC is the named provider on the WPSO corrections page. |
| Postal mail access after release | WPSO says released inmates can access photos, messages, and postal mail on the NCIC website. |
| Commissary / deposits | No official WPSO commissary fee or deposit page was located. |
| Phone pricing | Not located in official WPSO sources reviewed. |
Request Washington Parish Booking Records
For law-enforcement records, use WPSO Criminal Records rather than the Washington Parish Government form. The parish form explicitly says Washington Parish Government does not maintain records regarding law-enforcement matters. WPSO Criminal Records handles reports, background checks, fingerprints, citations, fines, court orders, warrants, subpoenas, and property-seizure paperwork.
The WPSO criminal-records page lists accident or incident reports at $10 each, background checks at $10 each, fingerprinting at $10 per card, Livescan at $41, and Livescan FBI at $54.25. Fingerprinting hours are Monday and Wednesday from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM and Friday from 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM. Those fees are for WPSO records services, not proof of jail bond payment rules.
The Washington Parish Government public-records form is still useful for ordinary parish-government records, and it lists $0.25 per page plus postage with a five-business-day production note. Its own warning makes it the wrong channel for sheriff, jail, and police records. That distinction keeps an inmate-record request from being routed to an office that already says it does not hold law-enforcement files.
Note: Confirm custody with WPSO before sending money, scheduling a visit, or relying on a roster bond amount.
